Sam Tabar started out his professional career as a lawyer. He transitioned to a businessman who works in the financial industry. He has successfully navigated both industries and has served in a top role at a number of different companies.
It was in 2001 that Sam earned his Master’s Degree in Law while attending Columbia Law School. After his graduation, he earned a job at the New York City law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, & Flom LLP & Associates.
Bloomberg revealed that Sam Tabar worked for this law firm as an attorney where he specialized in corporate law regarding issues such as fund formation, investment management agreements, compliance issues, and manager acquisitions. During the six years he worked with this company he became intimately familiar with the financial industry, making it his next career.
In 2007, Sam Tabar joined Sparx Group/PMA as its Managing Director. He had a number of responsibilities at this company including managing its global marketing efforts for their financial products which included assets such as long/short equity and macro funds. Mr. Tabar joined Merrill Lynch in 2011 as the Head of Capital Strategy. He split his time between New York and Hong Kong, managing teams that made capital introductions between high net worth investors and the fund managers at Merrill Lynch. He was highly successful in this position, earning the #1 rank for Capital Introductions two years in a row.
On December 15th, 2015, Sam Tabar was Chief Operating Officer at FullCycle Energy Fund. He led the company’s efforts to move away from carbon-based fuels to cleaner alternative sources of energy. His successful leadership eventually led to him being named as a Partner at FullCycleFund.
He has also served a role at another startup, Awearable Apparel Inc., where he served as the Chief Financial Officer.
